Dear Heavenly Father Journal: Gratitude Journal to be Filled with Bible Verses and Prayers

The Backstory Behind the Dear Heavenly Father Journal

When Julia Simpson was just a young girl, she carried her journal everywhere with her. Whether she was at the park with her family or in her room at home, she was known to never let the journal leave her side. It always brought her a sense of comfort and peace because it was her own space where she could put her innermost thoughts into words. But the problem was, she later would find out that there was a spiritual component missing in how to start her journal entries.

She had heard that many other girls her age starting their journal entries with the simple phrase “Dear Diary.” To her, this phrase just didn’t sit right with her. As a devout follower of Christ, she didn’t see her identity in the book itself but in her loving and faithful Father whom she also called her Heavenly Father.

In a season of heartbreak and trial, she pressed into her prayer life. As she felt there was a missing component to her journaling, the Lord spoke clearly unto her and inspired her to begin starting her entries with 3 simple but powerful words: “Dear Heavenly Father.”

Julia’s Testimony: Looking to God in Hard Times

As Julia grew older, she continued writing in the “Dear Heavenly Father” journal. No matter what season of life she was facing, God had proven Himself faithful to her and it was her way of demonstrating her devotion to Him.

She faced many trials and tribulations including losing a child, broken relationships, being diagnosed with cancer, and a severe car wreck that left her with towering medical expense debt, and much more; but through it all, she never let her story of hardship get in the way of her relationship with God. In fact, she has used her testimony of grief and adversity to show others the love and hope of Christ through it all.

*I want to hear from you, my child. Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy, and my burden is light. (Matthew 11:28-30)

About Intentionally Focused (IF)

The Intentionally Focused (IF) mission is to help Christian women repair their personal finances and grow in their faith so that they can live out their purpose and claim the freedom God promises to those who put their trust in Him.

Many women deal with brokenness in some way, and our goal is to encourage, mentor, and educate women in an empathetic and hopeful way that always points them back to the foot of the Cross. We admit that we don’t know everything, but that’s okay— because our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ does.

*Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and your Heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can anyone of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? (Matthew 6:26-27)

Our prayer is that our brand is a place where you can find spiritual and financial hope. The love of God is a gift, and we will close out by saying this:

* For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God. (Ephesians 2:8)
