Sarah’s Testimony of Faith
I was fortunate enough to be brought into this world by a community of Christians who ensured that I was baptized after birth, attended religious classes that taught me about God’s love through Jesus at a young age, was confirmed as a Christian and that I worshiped and received communion in fellowship with other Christian believers. These acts of God’s love empowered me to, when I was at an age where I was spiritually developed enough to make my own personal choice regarding my faith, accept Jesus as my personal savior. It was then that I made a commitment to turn away from sin and submit to God’s will for my life. I believe in the doctrine of the Trinity, that Jesus is the way, truth, and life, and that no one comes to the Father except through Jesus and I also believe that our world desperately needs Jesus.
With so much brokenness and trauma in our world I continue to be disheartened by the growth of sinful nature that I see in our post-modern culture which I believe has led to a loss of authentic development in the most important gift we have been given, our children. I see that by removing or excluding Christ-centered values from the pedagogy and extracurricular activities, and then by implementing ideals that are not aligned with the teachings of Jesus, the Lord’s children have not been able to develop higher order thinking skills such as critical and creative thinking. These skills are important for His children to learn as they contribute to overall character qualities such as curiosity in learning, persistence, resiliency, and social/ emotion awareness which are necessary for healthy development of the child and ultimately necessary for healthy communities. Specifically, I strongly believe that the I Am teachings of Jesus should be foundational for the instruction and care that we offer children as tools to learning and healing. These teachings give a glimpse of God’s character and who His children are designed to be in Him. I also believe that without this foundation we will continue to grow a culture of hopelessness and bondage to sin.
I sincerely align with Regent’s focus on transforming and impacting lives around the world. I desire to be a rising voice, principled leader, and example of unconditional love that will bring biblically based and scientifically supported help to children and communities who need Jesus. I believe that the excellent education that Regent provides through biblical and global lens with equip me, God willing, to be an effective leader that will influence and promote the positive change needed to break the bondage, cultivate hopefulness, and restore the brokenness, so that the Lord’s children may find peace, be fruitful, and prosper to bring Glory to God and his enduring love.
